Nothing happens until you choose
Pressing Finish saves the transcript and stops there. Nothing is sent to the AI and nothing in your notes changes. An After session row of buttons appears on the Session tab, and you pick what you want from the evening.
You don’t have to decide that night. Every session waits in Settings → Memory, where you can add it to memory, write its recap, or keep its audio later.
The buttons
| Button | What it does | Changes your notes? |
|---|---|---|
| Session recap | Writes the evening up in your group’s style, ready to paste into your group chat or notes. | No |
| Add to memory | Condenses the session into campaign memory, so Ask LoreMonkey and suggestions in later sessions can recall it. | No |
| Update campaign notes | Reads the session and proposes edits to your four notes files: new NPCs, changed relationships, threads that moved. | Only the ones you approve |
| Clean up transcript | Listens to the recording again with a more accurate model and puts misheard names right. Only shown when it can help. | No |
| Keep audio / Discard audio | Shown when the session was recorded. Discard keeps the transcript. | No |
Session recap works on every plan, using the free trial on Free. Add to memory and Update campaign notes are included from Lite up.
Once a session has a recap, an Illustrate this session band appears above it, from Lite up. See Illustrate a session and share it.
The order that works best
- Clean up transcript, if it’s offered and you want it. The others read the transcript, so they should read the cleaned-up one. See Clean up a transcript.
- Add to memory, so this session can be recalled.
- Update campaign notes, then review what it proposes.
- Session recap, whenever you like.
Each one runs once
A session gets one recap, one memory and one notes update. Once a button has run, it changes: Session recap becomes Open session recap, and Add to memory becomes In memory. That keeps the same evening from being written into your notes twice. If one of them failed or you stopped it, you can run it again.
To write a recap again with different settings, use Rewrite in Memory. See Recaps.
Reviewing the note updates
Update campaign notes takes a few minutes. When it’s done, its proposals wait on the Character & Campaign tab under Updates waiting for you. Nothing is saved until you apply it. Review updates to your notes walks through it.
A very short session (a false start, a test) gets a question first, so a stray press doesn’t spend your allowance.
