Illustrate a session and share it

  • Lite and up
  • Uses AI allowance

Illustrations are new in LoreMonkey 1.3.

What you get

An illustration is the session told as a story: a title, a tagline, eight scenes with captions, the cast, and quotes from the table. LoreMonkey writes the text from your recap and generates the pictures from your Compendium’s descriptions and portraits, so the more you have written about your characters, the closer they come out.

The quotes are never made up. Each one is taken word for word from the transcript, or left off.

What each plan includes

Plan Illustrations
Free Not included.
Lite One on the house, in Ultra, and it never touches your AI allowance. It’s one per account, not one a month: the button says Illustrate Session · 1 free until it’s used.
Standard Every session, in Normal or Quick, from your AI allowance, plus one in Ultra on the house that never touches your allowance. It’s one per account: the button says Illustrate Session · 1 free Ultra until it’s used; after that, Ultra comes with Pro.
Pro Every session, in any mode including Ultra, from your AI allowance.

Each mode shows how much allowance it uses before you start: Ultra about as much as a dozen recaps, Normal about three, Quick about two. Standard’s free Ultra says 1 free instead. On Pro, illustrating every weekly session in Ultra takes a real share of the month’s allowance on top of your play, so a busy month may need LoreMonkey Credits.

Start one

  1. Write the session’s recap first. The illustration is made from it. See Recaps.
  2. Above the recap, in the Illustrate this session band, press Illustrate Session. You can also start from the session in Settings → Memory.
  3. LoreMonkey picks the evening’s best moments. It takes about half a minute.

Check the text before any picture is made

Your illustration shows everything first: the title, and for each panel its caption, what the picture should show, and the quote with who said it. Change whatever you like. If the title would run to three lines on the illustration, LoreMonkey says so.

Check the cast

LoreMonkey shows who it will draw before it generates the scenes. Under Using your Compendium it lists the characters in the illustration and points out anyone with no description or no picture. The pictures are drawn from what your Compendium says, so filling those in is the surest way to get faces right. Open Compendium takes you there.

Select a character to draw them again, or to give them a different look for this session only. A drawing you like can become their Compendium picture with Use as Compendium picture.

Choose a mode and generate

Mode What it’s like
Ultra Each scene is generated on its own, for the most detail. Pro, Lite’s free illustration, and Standard’s free one.
Normal One picture, cut into the eight panels. The same model with less individual detail.
Quick Like Normal, faster and cheaper.

Press Generate the illustration. It takes a minute or two and can’t be stopped once it starts.

If a picture couldn’t be made, Generate the missing pictures tries only those again. A picture that couldn’t be made doesn’t use up Lite’s free illustration or Standard’s free Ultra. On Lite, the free illustration comes with one set of pictures; generating them all again comes with Standard and Pro. Standard’s free Ultra also comes with one set of pictures; you can generate them again in Normal or Quick.

Look at it and copy it

  • See it full size opens each picture on its own, with its caption.
  • Copy image puts the whole illustration on your clipboard, ready to paste into Discord or a group chat.
  • Edit the text changes the words and lays the illustration out again.
  • Rewrite writes the whole illustration again from the recap.

Share it with your players

Press Share, then Publish the page. LoreMonkey puts the illustration, every picture at full size and the session’s recap on a page at loremonkey.com. Copy link and post it wherever your group talks.

  • Tick Add my invite link and anyone who joins through the page gets 20% off their first month, and you get the same off your next month.
  • Tick Show the campaign name and game system to put them on the page. They stay off unless you tick it.

Anyone with the link can open the page. It carries the recap in full, with the names your players were tagged with and what was said at the table, so ask your table before you share. The privacy policy says exactly what goes up.

Changed something? Update the page and the link stays the same. Stop sharing takes the page down at once. Sharing needs a paid plan, and pages that break our terms are taken down.
