Clean up a transcript

  • Every plan
  • One optional step uses AI allowance

When it’s offered

Clean up transcript appears in the After session row only when it can help:

  • the session was recorded and hasn’t been cleaned up yet, or
  • some lines were hard to make out, or
  • a name from your Compendium looks misheard.

It runs once per session.

What it does

When you press it, LoreMonkey says what it can do for this session and lets you choose:

  • Listen again. LoreMonkey transcribes the recording a second time with the most accurate speech model your PC can run. Live transcription has to keep up with the table; this doesn’t, so it hears more. It’s free and stays on your PC, and Discord speaker names are kept, but a long session can take a while, especially without an NVIDIA card.
  • Fix names. Where a name from your Compendium was plainly misheard, it’s put right. Free.
  • Fix with AI. LoreMonkey’s AI looks at the lines that were hard to make out or may have a name wrong, using your campaign’s names. This uses a little of your AI allowance, and it’s always your choice.

So a recorded session offers Listen again and fix or Listen again only, and one that wasn’t recorded offers Fix with AI or Fix names only.

A Stop button sits beside it while it runs.

Do it first

Recaps, memory and note updates all read the transcript. Clean up first, so they read the better version. If the session is already in campaign memory, the memory keeps the original it was made from.

Your original is kept

The cleaned-up transcript replaces the one LoreMonkey works from, and your original is kept. If listening again comes back with much less than the live transcript did, LoreMonkey keeps the original and says so.

No recording?

Listening again needs the audio. To keep recordings from now on, tick Record this session on the Session tab, or Record this campaign’s sessions in Settings → Recordings. They stay on your PC and don’t use your allowance.

Next

Between sessions, bring in old recordings or ask about your campaign.
