Terms of service

Last updated 6 August 2026

The short version: use it for your games, do not resell it or try to get around the limits, tell your table they are being transcribed, and treat what the AI says as a suggestion rather than a fact. Cancel whenever you like.

1. Who this is between

These terms are between you and LoreMonkey in Sweden, which operates LoreMonkey. Contact us at hello@loremonkey.com. By installing the software or creating an account, you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use it.

2. What you may do with the software

We give you a personal, non-exclusive licence to install and use LoreMonkey on machines you control, for your own games. You may not resell it, rent it out, run it as a service for other people, or strip out its limits and distribute the result.

3. Your account

You need an account for the AI features. Keep your login to yourself, give us a real email address, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. One free tier per person: creating extra accounts to get more free usage is a reason for us to close them.

4. Plans and payment

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions, charged in advance through Stripe, and they renew until you cancel. Prices are shown on the pricing page in US dollars, exclusive of tax. VAT or sales tax is added at checkout according to where you live, and the total is shown before you confirm.

  • Cancelling. Cancel any time from your account. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again.
  • Changing plan. Upgrades start immediately. Downgrades start at your next renewal.
  • Refunds. If LoreMonkey is not working out, email us within 14 days of a payment and we will refund it, whatever the reason.
  • Your statutory right to change your mind. As a consumer in the EU you normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. Because a subscription starts working immediately, you are asked to agree to it starting straight away, which in law gives up that right once the service has begun. Our own 14 day refund above stands regardless, so in practice you get the same thing.
  • Price changes. If we change what a plan costs, we will tell you before it affects you, and you can cancel instead.

5. Usage limits

Every plan includes a monthly allowance for the AI features. When it runs out, those features stop until your month resets. The local features carry on regardless. We also apply rate limits and abuse protection, and we may throttle or suspend an account that is clearly being used to attack the service or run up cost deliberately.

6. Your content, and your table

Your transcripts, campaign notes and anything you import remain yours. We claim no ownership of them and we do not use them to train models.

You are responsible for what you feed into LoreMonkey. That means having the right to use the documents you import, and telling the people at your table that the session is being transcribed. Recording or transcribing other people without their knowledge may be illegal where you live, and that part is on you, not us.

7. What the AI produces

LoreMonkey generates suggestions, answers and recaps from your notes and from a language model. It can be wrong, it can miss things, and it can misread a transcript that speech recognition mangled. Treat everything it writes as a prompt for your own judgement. It is a game aid, and nothing it produces is advice of any other kind.

8. Availability

We will keep the service running as well as we reasonably can, but we do not promise it will never be down. We depend on other people's infrastructure, including our model provider, and their outages become ours. We may change or remove features, and if a change materially reduces what you are paying for, you can cancel.

9. Liability

LoreMonkey is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost data, or anything that went wrong at your table. Where we are liable, that liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the problem. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including for death, personal injury or fraud.

10. Ending it

You can stop using LoreMonkey and delete your account whenever you want. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why first.

11. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Swedish law, and Swedish courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in, or your right to bring a claim there.

If we cannot sort something out between us, a consumer in Sweden can take it to the National Board for Consumer Disputes (Allmänna reklamationsnämnden, ARN). Consumers elsewhere in the EU may have access to an equivalent dispute-resolution body in their own country.
