Install LoreMonkey and get it ready

  • Every plan
  • Free, runs on your PC

What you need

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
  • About 4 GB of free disk space for the app and its speech model.
  • An NVIDIA graphics card is a bonus, not a requirement. With one, LoreMonkey can use a more accurate speech model in real time. Without one, it uses a model sized for your processor.

Install

  1. Download the installer and run it.
  2. Follow the installer. LoreMonkey opens when it finishes.

If LoreMonkey doesn’t start, see Troubleshooting.

Sign in with your email and password, or with Continue with Discord or Continue with Google. Any of these can open the same account later.

To make a new account, choose Create an account. You need to be 16 or older. If a friend gave you an invite code, enter it here: it takes 20% off your first month when you subscribe.

The setup checklist

The first time LoreMonkey opens, it offers a checklist. Choose Show checklist. Each row shows whether that step is done on this PC:

Step Needed? What it does
Speech model Required Turns speech into text on your PC. It usually comes with the installer and shows Ready. If it shows Download, press it and wait for it to finish before starting a session.
Your character and campaign Required The notes LoreMonkey works from. See Set up a campaign.
GPU acceleration Recommended Only shown if you have an NVIDIA card. Enable downloads a one-time 1.3 GB pack for more accurate transcription.
Discord speaker names Optional Labels who said each line if you play on Discord. See Connect Discord.
Test your setup Recommended Checks audio, transcription and AI before a real game. See Set up your audio.

When both required steps are done, the checklist says Ready to play. You can close it and reopen it any time with Setup guide on the Session tab.

Updates

LoreMonkey tells you when a new version is ready. To check yourself, open Settings (top right) and press Check for updates under App version.
