Run a session

  • Every plan
  • One optional step uses AI allowance

Before you press Start

  • Pick the right campaign in the picker at the top of the Session tab.
  • Check the audio meters say hearing ✓.
  • If you play on Discord, check it shows as connected next to your inputs.
  • Decide whether to tick Record this session to keep the audio.

Start, pause, resume

Press Start session. The first start of the day takes a little longer while the speech model loads. Once the status at the top says it is listening, lines appear in Live transcript as people speak.

The same button becomes Pause. Pausing for a break stops everything, including the clock: the transcript picks up where it left off, the session’s length counts only the time you played, and a recording leaves the break out. Press Resume to carry on.

Lines that were hard to make out are shown dimmed. LoreMonkey leaves them out of recaps, memory and note updates, so a misheard name can’t turn into a new character.

Finish or Reset

At the end of the night:

  • Finish ends the session and keeps the transcript. It doesn’t send anything to the AI. The After the game buttons appear for you to choose from.
  • Reset throws the session away: it permanently deletes the recording and clears the transcript. Use it for a false start, never for a real game. It can’t be undone.

Practice mode

Tick Practice mode (no suggestions) before you start to try LoreMonkey without it offering ideas or touching your campaign. It transcribes as normal, uses none of your allowance, and nothing is saved to your campaign. It’s a good way to get used to the screen before a real game.

If LoreMonkey closed during a session

The transcript is written to your PC line by line, so a crash, a restart or closing the window doesn’t lose the evening. Next time LoreMonkey opens, the Session tab shows Unfinished session:

  • Resume, when it’s offered, carries on recording into the same session if the night is still going.
  • Finish files it, exactly as pressing Finish at the time would have.
  • Discard deletes it.
